About iView

iView is a free resource that provides flexible access to a wide range of health and social care data.

Who is iView for?

This data resource has been designed for professionals working with health and social care data on a regular basis.

“The Health and Social Care Information Centre’s iView resource is rapidly proving to be a valuable and essential system for timely, accurate reporting on workforce data and costs across the North West.”

Mike Burgess Assistant Director,
Workforce and Modernisation, NHS North West

How flexible is the data?

iView enables users to request access to a variety of data in a consistent and flexible format. iView allows you to:

  • Access Information – choose from a variety of data areas.
  • Build Reports – select data to suit your needs.
  • Generate Charts – customise report tables and graphs.
  • Export Data – copy to Excel and manipulate data your way.
  • Save Reports – store your favourite views for future use.

How can I access the data?

iView makes data easily accessible. However, due to the sensitive nature of certain data sets, access to some iView data areas is restricted to authorised users. Full details of all data areas and how to access them are available on the Data Areas page.

To start using the iView resource, you first need to set up a HSCIC account.

Once you have registered for a data set, you can access everything you have been authorised to view within the My Data area of this iView website. All you need to do is sign-in and your data will be there to start working with - all in one place.
